WHY THE ARTS?

"Creativity is said to be one of the last cognitive abilities to go", says Ann Pasco, Churchill Fellowship charity recipient, speaking of her work as the carer of a loved one with Alzheimer's.  "Human therapeutic interventions maintain self-esteem and help creativity, which in turn can lead to self-discovery and personal growth."

The Martinsey Isle Trust uses creativity in its Art of Living and Dying work to help ease loneliness and bereavement, and to facilitate discussions about death and dying so that we can make informed decisions before it is too late.
